Needham Running Club Behind every great runner/triathlete is an even greater running/triathlon club. While the annual dues are a little outragous at $15, the benefits you receive are easily worth at least $20! All joking aside, the NRC is a friendly coed group of people of all skill and age levels that share a love of running and biking (no one likes swimming).

Boston Althletic Association (BAA.org) This is the organization that runs the Boston Marathon. All kinds of good information about running on it.

LogYourRun.com One of the coolest websites I have ever seen (thanks Karen). Type in your address (or wherever you run from) and then mark out the route that you are running, even if it's through a field, up a mountain or around your house, and it will give you the exact mileage! All kinds of other running tools as well. Awesome Technology!

NERunner.com Great website with an event calendar that lists just about every race in each state of New England.

Another great website that allows you to search for races on a local, state, national and even global level!

Boston Sports Club/BSC
Without question, the best run healthclub I have ever been a member of and the only one that has an indoor Olympic size pool! In addition they have an incredible amount of equipment, numerous classes like Spin that are included in the price, two outdoor pools and even indoor tennis courts. In addition the staff remembers your name and bends over backwards to help out. All at a cost that is pretty reasonable.

Marathon Sports A local chain that specializes in running shoes and equipment. They spent over an hour fitting me with the right shoe.

Food/Nutrition Related Websites

CalorieKing.com Great website that breaks down the nutritional information of tons of foods including fast food. Ever wonder how many calories are in a McDonalds Sausage McMuffin? It's there. Also calculates the number of calories per ounce or serving!

Dietfacts.com
This website lists almost every restaurant chain in the US and then gives a nutritional breakdown of every item on the menu! The only restaurants not listed are ones that don't release their nutritional information, like Bertuccis Pizza.

Arbonne.com
One of the ways that I have lost weight is to supplement my meals with protein shakes from the Swiss company Arbonne. I also use their vitamin packs every day to guarantee proper nutrition. In addition to food supplements, they also have many other products (ie skin care, shampoo, etc) that I believe in since they only use natural ingredients.

Traditional Oven.com A great webpage that converts everything to everything (ie Oz to ML, Cup to teaspoon, etc). They also have lots of other cooking information as well.

Food Template (Excel file). This is an Excel spreadsheet that I created to keep track of EVERYTHING that I eat everyday. It's a very simple sheet but actually may be a little confusing for people that aren't that familiar with Excel. I have no doubt that there are many other "Food Logs" out there that are much much better, but this one works for me.
